President Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron are scheduled to meet Monday at the G7 summit in France. The meeting comes after the Trump administration on Sunday reached a preliminary deal with Iran that it said would open the Strait of Hormuz. Trump is also threatening France with 100 percent tariffs on all wine and champagne imports unless Paris scraps its digital services tax on American technology companies. “I asked him not to charge American companies, and if they do, I have no choice but to charge a 100% tariff on all champagnes and all wines coming out of France,” Trump said, referring to Macron, in an interview with The New York Post published Monday. The meeting between the two leaders was scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m. EDT.
