SpaceX announced a multi-year cloud services agreement with Alphabet's Google, securing computing capacity as it prepares for its upcoming U.S. stock market debut. Under the terms, Google will pay SpaceX $920 million monthly from October 2024 to June 2029. The capacity will ramp up through September with a reduced fee during this initial period. The compute capacity includes approximately 110,000 Nvidia GPUs, CPUs, memory, and other related components. If SpaceX fails to provide the agreed number of GPUs by September 30, Google may terminate the agreement or accept a pro-rata reduction in fees after a one-month grace period. Either party may terminate the agreement with 90 days' notice after December 31. Google will retain ownership of its content, AI models, and associated data. This deal follows a similar agreement where Anthropic will use the full computing power of SpaceX's Colossus 1 facility, which houses over 220,000 Nvidia processors. SpaceX's disclosed compute-capacity agreements with Anthropic and Google are worth more than $70 billion in aggregate.
