The incident occurred around midnight when over 200 individuals, described as posing as students, squatted on the tracks at Pataliputra station.
According to Amresh Kumar, Inspector General of the Railway Protection Force for East Central Zone, the protesters claimed that arrangements were insufficient for students appearing for the Excise Department exams scheduled for Sunday. They demanded a special train to reach their destinations on time. The disruption led to two passenger trains and a goods train being stranded for several hours.
