A Hong Kong court has extended an injunction against the finance director of Chu Hai College, Ray Yip Kam-chun, his wife Ng Ka-man, and two other defendants, preventing them from handling over HK$25 million in allegedly misappropriated funds. The High Court also ordered the four defendants to disclose all assets worth HK$50,000 or more within 21 days to aid the college in its assessment.
Yip appeared in court for the first time since being sued by the Tuen Mun-based institution for embezzlement. The college claims Yip disguised illicit transactions as academic and administrative expenses, with over HK$17.3 million allegedly transferred to his personal bank account since 2023, including a purported "long service payment" despite his continued employment.
Rivers Design Engineering, a former contractor for the college, and its director, Ho Chung-ling, are also named as defendants. The college alleges they received more than HK$7.7 million as part of the scheme, an amount exceeding their entitlement for work performed on campus. Rivers Design Engineering and Ho Chung-ling were absent from the hearing.
