A German district court has issued an arrest warrant for Maximilian Krah, a lawmaker from the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, over unpaid legal fees. The warrant is a result of a dispute Krah had with comedian Jan Böhmermann.
In 2024, Böhmermann alleged on his podcast that Krah, a former Member of the European Parliament, had ordered 200 bottles of champagne for a tent at Munich's Oktoberfest. Krah denied the claims, calling them "complete nonsense." Böhmermann later revised his research to suggest the number was closer to 50 bottles.
