The Detroit Tigers have activated reliever Kenley Jansen from the injured list ahead of their weekend series against the Cleveland Guardians. Jansen had been sidelined with pelvic inflammation. The team also added outfielder James Outman to the roster after claiming him off waivers from the Minnesota Twins, and selected the contract of right-hander Jacob Waguespack. Manager A.J. Hinch indicated that more roster moves are anticipated over the weekend as players return from injury. Tarik Skubal is expected to be activated and start on Saturday, returning from arthroscopic surgery on his left elbow. Casey Mize is also slated to be activated on Sunday to start the series finale, having missed his last two starts due to inflammation in his right abductor. To make room on the roster, the Tigers optioned right-handers Beau Brieske and Brenan Hanifee to Triple-A Columbus, and designated infielder Zack Short for assignment.
