Brazilian pine chemicals producer Pinus Brasil is resuming production of rosin derivatives at a new facility today. This restart follows a fire in August 2025 that destroyed a previous unit at its Buri complex in Sao Paulo state. The new site boasts a production capacity of 20,000 tons per year.
In a separate development, Kawasaki Heavy Industries is set to renovate the fuel-conveying facilities at Japan's Taketoyo power plant. This renovation aims to enhance safety by preventing fires and explosions. The scope of work includes improvements to dust collection systems and the installation of new fire monitoring equipment. The project is anticipated to be completed by June 2028.
