Malaysia's Taiyo Biomass is scheduled to launch its empty fruit bunch (EFB) pellet plant in Pasir Gudang, Johor, on September 7. The facility will have an initial production capacity of 15,000 tons per year. Taiyo Biomass intends to supply biomass markets located in Northeast Asia with its products.
In parallel, Arctic Sisu has identified e-methane as its preferred pathway for its Kotka project. The company views e-methane as the most commercially viable and pragmatic option for entering the hydrogen derivatives market. Arctic Sisu is targeting a launch for this project in 2030. The estimated capital expenditure for the Kotka project ranges between €500 million and €600 million.
