EU, Brazil Expand Feed Sector Partnership

The European Union and Brazil have formalized a Strategic Partnership Agreement aimed at deepening cooperation within the agricultural sector, with a specific emphasis on the feed industry. This accord is designed to streamline trade processes, foster the exchange of information regarding regulatory advancements, and champion the adoption of sustainable agricultural methodologies between the two entities.

In parallel, Brazilian meatpacker JBS is embarking on a significant expansion through a joint venture with PT Danantara (DIM), an investment arm affiliated with Indonesia's sovereign wealth fund. This collaboration is set to channel $2.5 billion into protein production initiatives spanning Southeast Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. As part of this strategic move, JBS will integrate its current business operations located in Australia and New Zealand into this newly established venture, consolidating its presence and capabilities in the region.
