The United Auto Workers union has reached a tentative labor agreement with axle supplier Dauch Corp, concluding a 10-day strike at the company's plant in Three Rivers, Michigan. UAW President Shawn Fain announced the deal on Wednesday.
The Dauch Corp facility supplies axles for General Motors' full-size and midsize truck models. Members of UAW Local 2093 will soon vote on the new agreement, which includes a top wage rate of $30 per hour by 2030, a more than 36% increase over four years. The strike will continue until the contract is ratified.
Workers at the Dauch plant had agreed to lower wages in 2008, with the top wage increasing by $4 to $22 per hour since then. A Dauch spokesperson stated appreciation for the negotiation teams finding common ground.
