The Seoul High Court issued this latest ruling in July 2026, a reduction from the initial 1.38 trillion won ordered in 2024. The Supreme Court had previously reviewed the case in October 2025, finalizing the divorce and setting Chey's alimony payment at 2 billion won.
Chey initiated divorce proceedings in 2017, having admitted two years prior to an extramarital affair and fathering a child. He and Roh married in 1988 and have three children together. Experts suggest there is a low probability of the ruling being overturned, given the Supreme Court's prior review.
