North Texas Real Estate Information Systems (NTREIS) has appointed Joey Bandemer as its new vice president of data governance and customer experience. This appointment is part of a significant modernization initiative led by CEO Chris Carrillo, aimed at enhancing technology, compliance, and data strategies for the MLS, which serves over 53,000 subscribers across Texas and Louisiana.
In his new role, Bandemer will establish and lead NTREIS's compliance and data governance division. His responsibilities will encompass policy development, data licensing, and setting customer experience standards. This move signifies a shift towards direct compliance management by the MLS, replacing a previous structure where 13 shareholder associations shared these duties.
The NTREIS board and shareholders have voted to bring MLS compliance in-house for the first time. This centralized program will cover the organization's 44-county service area, with a soft rollout anticipated in the fourth quarter of 2026. CEO Chris Carrillo highlighted the increasing pressures on MLSs to demonstrate value and improve data governance, citing private listing networks and evolving technology ecosystems.
Bandemer brings extensive experience in MLS compliance and policy from previous roles, including director of compliance and policy at Bright MLS and director of local association services at Florida Realtors. He also has experience from REcolorado.
NTREIS has also recently launched NTREIS Rewards, a broker incentive program, and entered into a data-sharing agreement with the Houston Association of Realtors (HAR) to enhance cooperative data infrastructure.
