Jay Papasan, a long-serving executive at Keller Williams, has announced his decision to step down from his role as vice president of strategic content, effective August 1. Papasan, who joined the real estate franchise in September 2000, stated his intention to focus on family businesses, writing, and coaching.
During his tenure, Papasan was instrumental in the company's growth from 27 employees and fewer than 7,000 associates to becoming the largest real estate franchise by agent count globally. His initial role involved writing a newsletter for the technology team, and he went on to contribute to numerous company initiatives, including Family Reunions, MegaCamps, KWU, Research, Publishing, KW Video, and Marketing. He also co-authored books with Keller Williams executives, including co-founder Gary Keller.
In an internal email, Gary Keller expressed deep gratitude for Papasan's contributions, describing him as a "dear friend, writing partner, business partner, and one of the finest thinkers." Keller highlighted Papasan's unique ability to articulate complex ideas about life, leadership, and business in memorable ways.
Despite stepping down from his day-to-day leadership position, Papasan will continue his involvement with Keller Williams through book projects, hosting The ONE Thing podcast, leading The ONE Thing training and coaching team, and supporting agents at the Papasan Properties Group.
