Honda Motor America is initiating a recall for 880,514 vehicles in the United States due to concerns over the failure of rear suspension components. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reported that the affected vehicles, including certain Honda Pilot, Ridgeline, Passport, and Acura MDX models, may experience failure of rear suspension parts like the rear control arm. This condition could lead to a loss of handling and control, thereby increasing the risk of a crash or injury. As a remedy, dealerships will inspect the rear subframe, install a reinforcement kit, and, if necessary, repair or replace the rear subframe components at no cost to the owner. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed by July 7, 2026.
