Walmart-owned Flipkart has announced a partnership with Netflix to offer its loyalty program members a monthly mobile streaming plan. To qualify, Flipkart Plus members must place four orders of at least 299 rupees each within a calendar month across Flipkart, Flipkart Grocery, or Flipkart Minutes. Upon meeting this requirement, they will receive a 30-day Netflix Mobile subscription starting August 1. This initiative is part of Flipkart's strategy to encourage repeat purchases as competition intensifies in India's online retail and quick commerce markets. Flipkart, which Walmart acquired a controlling stake in during 2018, has been expanding its services to include groceries and rapid deliveries, directly competing with Amazon and other quick commerce platforms. The company recently shifted its holding company to India from Singapore, a move that facilitates its planned stock market listing in the country, with reports suggesting a listing target before March 2027.
