Dubai has launched a new promotional campaign, "A Dubai Invite," to attract visitors during the low season. The initiative allows residents to nominate friends and family to visit the emirate before October 31, offering them benefits valued at over AED 3,000 (approximately €716).
These benefits include significant discounts such as 45% off hotel stays at properties like Meliá Desert Palm, complimentary tickets to popular attractions including Aquaventure and IMG Worlds of Adventure, and two-for-one dining deals at select restaurants. The program aims to encourage tourism by leveraging residents to act as ambassadors for the city.
Dubai, a major global tourist destination, typically experiences a low season during the summer months due to extreme temperatures reaching up to 50C. This year's low season is further complicated by the lingering effects of regional conflicts, which have impacted the perception of the Gulf as a stable region. While a ceasefire has been in place since April, hotels have largely relied on local guests.
In response to economic challenges, the Dubai government has previously approved economic packages totaling over $670 million (€586 million) to support businesses. These measures included fee exemptions for hotels and restaurants, reduced fines, and lower civil aviation permit fees. Airlines have also introduced travel insurance schemes to entice travelers back.
