CyrusOne, a data center owner, operator, and developer affiliated with KKR & Co., has appointed John Hatem as its new chief executive officer. The promotion is effective immediately, and Hatem will also take a seat on the company's board of directors.
Hatem, who has been with CyrusOne since 2011 and most recently held the position of president, expressed excitement about the company's future. He highlighted the increasing demand for power-intensive workloads and faster delivery, emphasizing CyrusOne's structural advantages.
Outgoing CEO Eric Schwartz is stepping down but will collaborate with Hatem to ensure a seamless leadership transition. CyrusOne has experienced a busy year, including being selected by the Army to construct a data center on 1,200 acres at a Utah military base. The company has also announced new data centers in the San Antonio region and partnered with Eolian to deploy a 200-megawatt data center near Fort Worth.
