Compass settles TCPA lawsuit filed by Jessica Murch

The original complaint, filed in mid-June of last year, named Compass, Compass Washington, and two agents, Rachel Olson and Ansel Sanger, as defendants. Murch alleged that her phone number was listed on the Do Not Call Registry for over 31 days before she began receiving calls from Compass agents. She further stated that she had never been a customer of Compass and had not consented to receive calls or text messages from the company.

According to the lawsuit, Murch received four calls from Olson in mid-August 2024 inquiring about her interest in selling her house. Despite Murch's requests for communication solely via email, she claimed to have continued receiving unwanted calls through early June 2025. The lawsuit had sought class action status.

Compass had previously filed a motion to dismiss the lawsuit in May. The company declined to comment on the settlement.
