Agriland is launching a new series titled 'Groundbreakers' to celebrate women in Irish agriculture, supported by FBD Insurance. The series aims to highlight the significant role women play in the farming sector by showcasing their diverse experiences, challenges, and achievements through videos, podcasts, and articles. This initiative aligns with the United Nations' declaration of 2026 as the International Year of the Woman Farmer. Featured individuals include Mona O'Donoghue Concannon (dairy, beef, and suckler farm), Ciara Stanley (beef enterprise and farm shop), Anne Marie Feighery (Feighery's Farm Beetroot Juice), Carina Roseingrave (Burren View Farm manager and Ireland's ambassador for the International Year of the Woman Farmer), sisters Miriam and Rachel Hastings (sheep and suckler enterprise), Sophie Bell (third-generation farmer), and Laura Hannon (dairy farmer).
