India's Aerolloy Technologies has entered into an agreement with European airframer Airbus to develop and supply titanium castings. Aerolloy, a wholly owned subsidiary of PTC Industries, will produce these castings for Airbus' A320neo narrowbody jet, as well as its A330neo and A350 widebody aircraft. The castings will be delivered fully machined and ready for installation. This agreement sets a course for serial production, contingent upon Airbus' qualification and program requirements. Casting technology allows for near net-shape products, which minimizes scrap material during the machining process to create a finished part. PTC Industries did not specify the titanium grade, component type, or volume of castings, and had not provided further details at the time of publication.
