World Liberty Financial, a crypto venture co-founded by the Trump family and issuer of the USD1 stablecoin, has stated that it does not own or control Hong Kong-based AI platform WorldClaw. WorldClaw provides access to over 300 AI models from both U.S. and Chinese developers, and accepts payments in World Liberty's USD1 stablecoin and WLFI tokens.
Despite the close operational links, World Liberty Financial's spokesman, David Wachsman, asserted that WorldClaw is an independent company and that World Liberty has no control over the AI models offered. However, Wachsman declined to disclose any potential financial ties, such as equity holdings, financing, or revenue sharing, between the two entities.
Questions surrounding World Liberty's undisclosed business relationships have surfaced previously. A CoinDesk report detailed how the venture borrowed heavily against its own WLFI token on the Dolomite lending protocol, which trapped other depositors. Donald Trump Jr. had promoted WorldClaw on social media platform X upon its debut in May.
WorldClaw's terms of service explicitly bar residents, companies, and citizens of both the United States and China from using its services. The platform claims to have over 10,000 users and handles more than 50 million model requests daily, though these figures could not be independently verified.
World Liberty Financial, which issues the USD1 stablecoin, is a significant entity in the crypto space. The Trump family owns a substantial stake in World Liberty and has reportedly earned over $1.4 billion from token sales. USD1 is currently the fifth-largest dollar-backed stablecoin by circulation.
