Videos captured by robotaxi content creator David Moss reveal significant scaling operations for both Tesla and Waymo's autonomous vehicle fleets. Moss documented a lot containing over 100 Tesla Cybercabs near Dallas Love Field Airport and observed at least 500 Waymo Ojai vehicles at a facility in Mesa, Arizona.
The Waymo Ojai vehicles, which are based on a platform from Chinese automaker Zeekr and retrofitted with proprietary sensors by Magna, represent a substantial increase from the company's initial launch numbers. Moss described the display as the most impressive he had seen to date.
Meanwhile, the Tesla Cybercabs spotted in Dallas appeared to have steering wheels, suggesting they might be part of Tesla's validation and mapping fleet rather than fully production-ready commercial units. However, Tesla has stated that the Cybercab is in production and has begun engineering test drives on public roads.
