Taiwanese companies are increasingly leveraging artificial intelligence and automation within their own manufacturing operations to accelerate the production of AI servers. This strategic adoption allows them to rapidly scale up supply to meet the escalating global demand for more powerful AI systems.
This shift represents a significant transformation for Taiwan's manufacturing sector, which has historically been defined by consumer electronics. Companies like Foxconn, Quanta Computer, Wistron, and Wiwynn are now generating substantial revenue from AI servers, with some surpassing their earnings from iconic products like the iPhone. Taiwan now dominates the global AI server market, commanding over 90% of the build market and about 80% of all server shipments worldwide.
Foxconn, a company long associated with iPhone assembly, saw its AI servers and cloud/networking revenue exceed its consumer electronics revenue in the second quarter of 2025. Forecasts indicate a substantial surge in AI server revenue for the company in the third quarter. Chairman Young Liu anticipates AI server revenue to reach approximately $30 billion this year alone. Foxconn's strategic expansion into the U.S. and Mexico aims to support NVIDIA's extensive AI infrastructure initiatives.
Similarly, Quanta Computer, a key supplier for major cloud service providers, is experiencing a rapid increase in AI server revenue, which is expected to constitute a significant majority of its server business by the end of 2025. Wistron and Wiwynn have also reported substantial revenue gains, with Wiwynn supplying nearly half of the global hyperscale AI server procurement. NVIDIA has secured Wistron's entire server plant capacity through 2026, underscoring the intense demand and tight supply chains in the AI server market.
