Google has agreed to pay SpaceX approximately $920 million per month for compute capacity under a long-term services contract extending through mid-2029. The agreement, revealed in a SpaceX regulatory filing, aims to address surging customer demand for Google's Gemini Enterprise AI platform. The deal includes approximately 110,000 Nvidia GPUs, CPUs, memory, and other related components. Payments are scheduled to begin in October 2026 and continue through June 2029, with a phased rollout and lower costs during an initial ramp-up phase through September 2026. A key condition allows Google to terminate the contract if SpaceX fails to provide access to Nvidia chips by September 30, following a one-month grace period. Both parties can also exit the agreement with 90 days' notice starting in 2027. This arrangement is similar to a previous deal where Anthropic pays SpaceX $1.25 billion per month for compute capacity. Alphabet is significantly increasing its capital expenditures, projecting $175 billion to $185 billion for 2026, to compete in the AI race.
