Samsung has announced its latest smartwatch, the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2, which is now available for preorder and set to officially release on August 7, 2026. The new model builds upon the first-generation Ultra with enhancements aimed at outdoor adventurers and fitness enthusiasts.
The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 features a 47mm titanium case, available in Titanium Gray or Titanium Silver, with a redesigned, slimmer profile and lighter bands for improved comfort. It boasts a longer battery life, rated for up to 60 hours on a single charge thanks to an 800 mAh battery, a 35% increase from its predecessor. Performance is boosted by the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear Elite processor, and the display offers a maximum brightness of 5,000 nits.
Key new features include a Trail Run mode for tracking progress, terrain, and elevation, and a Nutrition Alert system that estimates hydration needs based on sweat loss and body weight. A standout addition is the Diving app, developed in collaboration with Mares, which will track real-time diving data such as depth, temperature, and safe dive limits.
Both the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 and the new Galaxy Watch 9 will include AI-powered health insights, such as a sleep apnea feature, vital monitoring, heart health scores, and cardio load guidance. Additionally, both watches come with extended free trials for fitness apps, including 60 days for Strava and two months for iFIT.
Preorders are available through Samsung and Amazon. Customers who preorder on the Samsung website without a trade-in can receive a $100 Samsung Instant Credit, typically best used for accessories. Amazon offers a bundle deal including a $100 gift card with the watch purchase. Samsung is also offering trade-in values of up to $250 for eligible Samsung or Apple watches.
