Meta Platforms is enhancing its Meta Horizon+ subscription service by integrating the Xbox Game Pass starter edition, expanding gaming options for users of its Quest virtual reality headsets. This collaboration with Microsoft's Xbox will grant Horizon+ subscribers access to over 50 Game Pass titles, in addition to the existing catalog of more than 100 virtual reality games.
Subscribers will also benefit from 10 hours of cloud gaming each month. Featured Game Pass titles include "Fallout 4," "Fallout 76," "Grounded," "DayZ," and "Overcooked 2." Meta plans to release a gamepad emulator in the coming weeks, which will allow Quest Touch controllers to function similarly to Xbox controllers.
This move comes after Meta raised U.S. prices for its Quest VR headsets in April, citing increased costs for memory chips and components. Earlier this month, Microsoft announced significant layoffs, cutting approximately 3,200 jobs within its gaming division as part of a broader restructuring effort.
