Hark launches browser agent for task completion

The functionality mirrors other browser-based agents that take commands to perform various tasks, from ordering food to booking travel and conducting research. In a demonstration, Hark's CEO, Brett Adcock, showcased the agent's ability to fulfill a command to create a custom flower bouquet, even with ambiguous user input.

Hark stated that the current release utilizes a post-trained model, with plans for pre-training later this year to expedite improvements in its data pipeline and training infrastructure. The company differentiates its model by claiming it predicts the next action rather than just the next token, a characteristic of traditional large language models.

This development places Hark among numerous companies, including tech giants like Google, OpenAI, and Anthropic, as well as VC-funded startups such as Browser Use, Polar, Strawberry, and Aside, that are developing computer-use agents. Hark claims its Handoff agent offers superior speed and lower costs compared to models like GPT 5.5 and Opus 4.8. The company has opened a waitlist for its platform, targeting a release by the end of the summer.
