Google announced on Monday that its Gemini app is now offering its personalized AI image generation feature for free to all eligible users in the United States. This capability, previously restricted to Plus, Pro, and Ultra subscribers, allows the AI to create images reflecting a user's unique interests and preferences by utilizing data from connected Google accounts, including Gmail, Google Photos, YouTube, and Search.
Users can simply request an illustration of themselves and their favorite things, and Gemini will generate it without requiring explicit details in the prompt. The feature can also access actual images from a user's Google Photos library, eliminating the need for manual uploads. The underlying Personal Intelligence feature, which is opt-in, was widely rolled out to U.S. users in March and has since been expanded to India and Japan.
Google also shared details about upcoming Gemini app updates, which include a new "Daily Brief" feature, an updated interface, access to the Gemini Omni AI video model, and a personal AI agent named Gemini Spark. The company highlighted Gemini's significant growth, noting that the AI chatbot surpassed 750 million monthly active users earlier this year.
