California-based technology firm Tavant has introduced a new enterprise platform that utilizes agentic AI to accelerate software development, data modernization, and automation. Announced on June 23, the Tavant Platform is positioned as an alternative to proprietary AI stacks and high recurring platform fees.
The platform comprises three core layers: agentic engineering tools built on AI coding agents, an optional cloud-native runtime foundation, and domain-specific automation components. It incorporates Tavant’s existing AIgnite tools and can be deployed on Tavant’s runtime or a customer’s preferred technology stack, aiming to maintain architectural portability and reduce vendor lock-in.
Tavant is initially targeting use cases in mortgage lending and the equipment aftermarket. For mortgage firms, the platform is intended to modernize legacy loan origination and servicing systems, automate workflows like underwriting and risk assessment, and facilitate custom application development. CEO Sarvesh Mahesh noted that the disruption caused by Large Language Models is compelling enterprises to re-evaluate workforce productivity, system modernization, and AI governance.
Chief technology officer Manish Arya highlighted that a key challenge for enterprises is achieving AI execution at scale with appropriate architecture, governance, and operational rigor. Tavant recently earned the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Generative AI Services Competency, supporting its efforts to guide clients from AI concepts to production systems. Agentic engineering involves AI coding agents that generate software, data pipelines, and workflows based on detailed specifications, requiring less manual coding. The platform is built with cloud-native and open-source components, offering customers the option to obtain source code for independent operation.
