Australian AI infrastructure company Firmus Technologies announced a strategic partnership with Nvidia Corp aimed at providing emerging AI firms with more affordable access to computing power. Under the agreement, Firmus will purchase Nvidia infrastructure and subsequently offer Nvidia-powered cloud services to its customers, including those identified as 'AI Native'.
The deal is set to deliver 170,000 Nvidia Graphics Processing Units (GPUs) between the first quarter of 2027 and the start of 2028. These GPUs will be located in Batam, Indonesia.
Firmus Technologies anticipates earning up to $30 billion in revenue during the initial six years of the partnership, based on customer commitments. The company stated that the agreement is designed to help smaller and developing AI firms access necessary technology infrastructure, leveling the playing field against larger entities with better credit ratings.
Nvidia has previously invested in Firmus Technologies through its capital-raising rounds. In April, Firmus announced it had raised $1.35 billion over the preceding six months, achieving a post-money valuation of $5.5 billion. The company has also reportedly appointed investment banks to explore a potential initial public offering.
