The European Technology Network (ETN), a London-based media venture founded by Luke Knight and Ronan Chambers, is significantly expanding its operations following a $1.6 million seed funding round. Initially launched in October with a two-day-a-week live stream format, ETN has garnered over 5 million views on platforms like X and YouTube.
The fresh capital, secured from investors including Powerhouse Capital, Axel Springer SE, and LadBible, will facilitate the network's move into a larger studio in Kings Cross, an expansion of its current eight-person team, and the launch of a newsletter. Most notably, ETN is transitioning to a five-day-a-week live show schedule, aiming to provide a platform for discourse on Europe's rapidly evolving tech and AI landscape.
Knight and Chambers stated that ETN was created to fill a void in the media ecosystem, which they believe struggles to keep pace with the speed of innovation and capital flow in Europe's tech sector. They cited the $14.7 billion raised by London startups this year as evidence of this accelerated growth. The increased frequency of the show is intended to accommodate the high volume of guest pitches received weekly.
The expanded five-day format will feature daily live shows breaking down trending stories, followed by guest interviews. ETN also plans to incorporate debates, roundtables, and a 'Shark Tank'-style pitching session to further engage the ecosystem. The network generates revenue through advertising and has secured sponsorships from companies like Polymarket, Base, and ElevenLabs.
Inspired by the success of TBPN, founded by John Coogan and Jordi Hays, ETN aims to serve as a central stage for European tech news, product releases, and funding announcements. While based in London, the network emphasizes its commitment to featuring guests and stories from across the continent, having already broadcast from major tech conferences. ETN also welcomes American founders, viewing the venture as having global opportunities and aiming to promote European tech success stories to inspire future generations.
