Families urge Egypt to free political prisoners on Rabaa massacre anniversary

On the 13th anniversary of the Rabaa massacre, the Families of Egyptian Detainees Association (Feda) has issued a call to the Egyptian government, urging the release of political prisoners. Feda specifically requested the liberation of individuals imprisoned in connection with the Rabaa events, as well as other political detainees. The association framed this plea as a component of broader national reconciliation efforts within Egypt.

Meanwhile, in Venezuela, the government has announced the granting of "alternative liberty restriction measures" to 131 detained individuals. This action is part of the nation's "Peace and Democratic Coexistence program." Human rights organizations have expressed positive reactions to these releases. However, some groups also commented on the gradual pace of these measures and highlighted that political prisoners continue to be held in detention.
