Two separate cases involving allegations of murder and assisting in crimes have emerged. In Phoenix, the body of 16-year-old Zariah Finley Dodd, who was 22 weeks pregnant, was found with a gunshot wound. Police have booked Jurrell Davis, 36, on suspicion of murder and sexual misconduct with a minor, and Jechri James-Gillett, 18, on suspicion of murder. Davis has a prior conviction for child abuse with sexual motivation from 2008. Finley Dodd was a resident of a group home, and her former foster mother, Richilyn Fox, stated that Davis targeted girls in group homes.
In a separate incident, Gabriela Gonzalez, a 24-year-old TikTok influencer, was arrested in California on charges including attempted murder. Prosecutors allege that Gonzalez, with the help of her father, Francisco Gonzalez, and her ex-boyfriend Kai Faron Cordrey, plotted to kill her daughter's father, boy band singer Jack Avery, between 2020 and 2021. Francisco Gonzalez, a Florida-based attorney, is accused of sending money to Cordrey to facilitate the murder-for-hire plot. An undercover officer posed as a hitman and spoke with Cordrey about the scheme.
