The United Arab Emirates has reaffirmed its commitment to invest $1.4 trillion in the U.S. economy over the next decade, focusing on strategic sectors such as artificial intelligence, advanced technology, energy, and advanced manufacturing. This significant pledge, highlighted during a high-level diplomatic visit to Washington D.C. led by Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Executive Affairs Authority, aims to accelerate the UAE-U.S. AI Acceleration Partnership and bolster critical infrastructure and supply chains.
The investment framework, detailed in government disclosures, allocates substantial funds across key domains: $400 billion for semiconductors and AI, $350 billion for energy and clean technology, $350 billion for cloud and data sovereignty, and $300 billion for industrial reshoring. This initiative aligns with U.S. legislation like the CHIPS and Science Act and aims to create over 605,000 jobs.
Leading UAE companies, including G42, MGX, ADNOC, XRG, and Masdar, are actively involved in these investments. G42, in particular, is collaborating with major U.S. tech firms to build AI superclusters and is allocating $50 billion for minority stakes in U.S. semiconductor companies. Emirates Global Aluminium is also planning to construct the first new aluminum smelter in the U.S. in nearly 50 years.
During the diplomatic engagements, UAE officials also voiced criticism regarding European Union trade practices, indicating a broader geopolitical and economic stance beyond the bilateral investment initiative. The UAE's commitment underscores its role as a significant global economic partner for the United States.
