Donald Trump shared an AI-generated video on social media that portrays him as a doctor who has successfully treated prominent critics for "Trump Derangement Syndrome." The video features fabricated footage of celebrities such as Rosie O'Donnell, Robert De Niro, Whoopi Goldberg, Edward Norton, and Julia Roberts, who appear to express regret over their past criticisms of the former president.
In the video, an AI version of Trump, dressed as a doctor, offers a treatment plan that includes turning off "fake news," saying prayers, and drinking Diet Coke. The fabricated De Niro is shown saying, "I couldn’t eat, I couldn’t sleep, constantly angry. I made everyone miserable around me."
Outside of the AI fantasy, Rosie O'Donnell stated her assessment of Trump remained unchanged, calling him "quite ill" and suggesting the 25th Amendment. Trump has a history of using AI-generated content for political messaging, including previous posts that drew backlash for depicting him as Jesus, the Pope, and a king, as well as a racist video of the Obamas.
A White House spokesperson commented on the video, stating that posting it was Trump's "right."
