Salgado Araujo, an undocumented immigrant from Mexico, was fatally shot by ICE officers during a targeted enforcement operation aimed at arresting another individual. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) stated that an officer fired his weapon in self-defense after Salgado Araujo allegedly refused verbal commands and used his vehicle in an attempt to run over an officer.
