President Lee Jae Myung's approval rating has fallen to 49%, marking a record low since his inauguration, according to a National Barometer Survey conducted from Monday to Wednesday. This is the first time his approval rating has dipped below 50% in the biweekly poll, with disapproval rising by 6 percentage points to 43%. The survey also revealed public sentiment on the administration's real estate policies, with 56% of respondents indicating dissatisfaction and only 34% offering positive assessments. Regarding a recently unveiled property tax revision plan, 46% expressed support compared to 41% who opposed it. A significant 55% of those polled anticipate the revision will lead to an increase in "jeonse" and monthly rental prices. In terms of party support, the ruling Democratic Party (DP) maintained its standing at 40%, unchanged from the previous survey. The main opposition People Power Party (PPP) saw a slight increase, gaining 2 percentage points to reach 23% support. The DP holds a lead over the PPP across most age demographics and regions, with the exception of individuals in their 20s and younger, and the southeastern city of Daegu and North Gyeongsang Province.
