A manhunt has been launched for Stephen Grzyb, a 22-year-old man who escaped from police custody on Saturday morning. Grzyb was being transported to Liverpool Magistrates' Court, where he was due to appear on charges of a domestic-related burglary.
According to Merseyside Police, Grzyb fled on foot at approximately 10:00 AM after the custody van had pulled up outside the court. He was last seen running down Red Cross Street in the direction of The Strand. Police have released a photograph of Grzyb and are urging the public to report any sightings immediately.
