A man has been charged with murder following the fatal stabbing of a 22-year-old in Clapham, south-west London. Six men were initially arrested in connection with the incident, which police believe took place around Tremadoc Road and Clapham High Street.
Officers were called at approximately 04:37 BST on Saturday after a man arrived at a hospital with a stab wound. He later died from his injuries. Four of the arrested men also sustained stab wounds and were treated in hospital, with their injuries not considered life-threatening or life-changing. Two further men, aged 27 and 23, were arrested at the hospital and remain in custody. The fatally injured man is understood to have been stabbed at about 04:20.
Detective Chief Inspector Sarah Lee is leading the investigation, and an increased police presence was noted in the area throughout Saturday. The family of the deceased man has been informed and is receiving support from specialist officers. Superintendent Mark Gallacher acknowledged the concern within the local community and assured that detectives are working to establish the full circumstances.
