North Korean leader Kim Jong-un held photo sessions with participants in the Eighth Congress of the Socialist Women's Union of Korea and members of an unidentified construction and engineering military unit, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported Saturday. The meetings, held Friday, are viewed as part of efforts to rally loyalty and solidify internal unity.
According to KCNA, participants in the women's association meeting expressed "stormy cheers of 'Hurrah!'" for Kim, whom they referred to as a "tender-hearted father." Kim stated that the women's organization, with its "noble spirit of firmly trusting and following our Party only and passionately loving and defending socialism," represents his "highest pride and our state's great strength."
