Warsh Went Hawkish and Nothing Moved. Cem Karsan Says Vol Supply Is Why.

Warsh came in hawkish at Jackson Hole, defending a firm 2% target and pushing back on any expectation of near-term easing. Rates markets moved. Equities did almost nothing. Cem Karsan's read is that vol is so well supplied right now that it's hard for this market to move at all, regardless of the news. He also walks through what happened to Nvidia after Wednesday's close. Dealers were short out-of-the-money calls into the print. With an in-line number, the baseline flow is vol selling, which is the market-down, vol-down move that came first. Then the close came, liquidity thinned, and the dealer flows came off the table.
