Tom Preston Shows a Debit Spread That Profits Even If the Stock Doesn't Move

Tom Preston shows a twist most traders miss: a debit spread can make money even if the stock doesn't move. The trick is comparing the debit you pay to the intrinsic value of the in-the-money option. Pay 2.50 for a vertical whose long call has 3.00 of intrinsic value, and even if the stock sits still, the spread grows into that 3.00 by expiration, a 50-cent profit for zero movement. A cleaner bullish play when vol is low. 📊 tastylive: https://www.tastylive.com/ 📰 Get Tom's pre-market analysis every morning: https://www.tastylive.com/newsletters 📘 FREE Options Strategy Guide: https://tinyurl.com/bp9ms763 📱 Follow tastylive on X: https://x.com/tastyliveshow Chapters 00:00 Getting positive theta, the usual way 00:40 The debit-spread twist 01:15 Loading up intrinsic value on the chain 02:00 Setting up the Tesla call vertical 02:40 Debit 2.50 vs intrinsic 3.00 03:00 Fast-forward to expiration 03:45 Profit with zero movement 04:30 The rule, debit below intrinsic 05:30 Why it beats a short spread in low vol 06:10 Size it to your own risk #tastylive #tompreston #debitspread #callvertical #positivetheta #intrinsicvalue #lowvolatility #optionsforbeginners #optionstrading #stockmarket tastylive is a real financial network, producing hours of live programming every day.
