Christopher Uhl, founder of OVTLYR, joins Errol with a simple way to read the biggest chart moment in earnings season: the gap. He splits them in two. A gap and go opens sharply higher and keeps pushing, which he reads as a new pool of buyers taking over. A gap and crap opens higher and closes back below the gap, which he treats as a fake out to step away from. He also shares the trend template he uses to stop guessing: the 10 and 20 exponential moving averages plus the 50, and when they line up he considers the trend up, though he stresses it tells you direction and not magnitude or duration. He explains why he is avoiding energy while headlines whip it around, and how years of screen time made gaps less scary.
