Nitrogen fertilizer supply in North America still leans on imports, even though the U.S. and Canada have plenty of natural gas to make their own. Josh Linville, StoneX VP of Fertilizer, walks through what a more reliable North American nitrogen fertilizer supply could look like. Much of that natural gas is exported in its natural state rather than upgraded into finished nitrogen fertilizer at home. The grain market offers a precedent, after an earlier push there for more storage and more production. Building U.S. and Canadian nitrogen production beyond domestic demand would make North America an exporter of finished fertilizer, so a production hiccup during a global disruption would still leave demand covered. 0:00 Nitrogen Gets a Grain Playbook 0:34 Gas Out Raw, Nitrogen Imported 1:08 Nitrogen That Survives a Shock Discover Actionable Fertilizer Insights with StoneX Market Intelligence: https://shop.stonex.com/collections/fertilizers?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=sxtv_guest_josh_linville&utm_content=share Like and subscribe for more financial market insights. #Fertilizer #StoneX #JoshLinville #NaturalGas --------- Like this video?
