Gold and Treasury yields have been rising together, with both responding to the same U.S. fiscal pressure rather than pulling against each other. A U.S. Treasury buyback program was expanded a day after federal debt crossed a record threshold, and the U.S. 30-year yield fell only modestly before the longer upward trend reasserted itself.
