Zohran Mamdani and his supporters don't care how his policies play out

​Newsweek Senior Editor-at-Large Josh Hammer believes New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani “doesn’t care” how his own policies play out. "​Conservatives for a long time have understood that you judge policies not based on the intentions but based on the actual results,” Mr Hammer told News24 host Rita Panahi. ​“Mamdani, unfortunately, I think, is impervious to commentators like this who point out that his policies might not be working because he doesn’t really care about actually how the policies play out. ​“He is a man who is glib, he is very charismatic, he is very good on camera, he is very well spoken, and he has a base of supporters who, unfortunately, don’t really care. ​“I really fear that his supporters don’t actually care about how his policies actually end up.”
