Wong under fire over travel costs as the foreign minister takes separate flight to US

News24 host Sharri Markson blasts Foreign Minister Penny Wong for spending tens of thousands of taxpayer dollars on a separate flight to Prime Minister Anthony Albanese ahead of their US trip. “Current airfares have a return business class flight costing between $10-20,000,” Ms Markson said. “A spokesman for the foreign minister said she had three ministerial staff travelling with her for the United Nations General Assembly. “This would put the cost at an estimated $80 to $100,000 in flights alone.”
