‘Whoever wins AI, wins’: Trump dismisses AI fears amid political discourse

As the race towards the US midterms continues in earnest, America’s federal politicians have returned to Congress as the debate over whether or not there should be tighter controls over AI heats up. President Trump claims the US is in a race with China over artificial intelligence. “The only control or ‘guardrails’ that AI needs is a strong and smart (high IQ) President, and the USA has that in spades,” he said in a post on Truth Social. “The Trump administration has stopped AI ‘people’ from doing bad, or potentially bad ‘things’ like Dario (Anthropic), who is now pretending to be a ‘perfect little angel’, and we will continue to do so.”
