‘Wake up call’: New poll shows Australians don’t feel secure in Albanese’s hands

Shadow Defence Minister James Paterson reacts to a News24 poll showing 89 per cent of Australians question our national security, saying the government are not taking defence “seriously”. “No, I’m not surprised at all … they’ve got a government who’s not taking national security and defence seriously and is failing to follow the advice of our own best-informed experts,” Mr Paterson told News24. “If we continue to neglect our defence and our national security, I fear we will be harshly judged by history. “I think the Albanese government should use this poll as a wake-up call to step up and actually invest what we need to secure our country.”
