The meeting, held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, during the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit, highlighted Russia and Iran’s growing partnership. The meeting between Putin and Pezeshkian followed a second consecutive day of strikes by the US on Iran. US Central Command claimed Iran struck commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, leading to the regime being struck in retaliation.
